Albany Academy withstood a late charge from Shaker to grab a 52-46 victory in a non-league tilt. After a slow start in the opening frame, the Cadets used a suffocating defense to gain control of the contest outscoring the Blue Bison 29-11 in the middle two frames.
 
Shaker jumped all over the Cadets at the start racing out to a 9-0 lead after an Andrew Church three pointer. The Blue Bison led after one period 13-8.
 
Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored a scant 14 points. Albany Academy outscored Shaker 12-2 to grab the halftime lead, 20-15 after trailing by nine points early in the game. They didn't allow a Shaker shot attempt until there was 2:50 left in the second quarter. Their pressure defense wouldn't allow the Blue Bison to set up the offense.
 
Albany Academy finally got some offense going in the third quarter, scoring 17 points, and grabbed a 37-24 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Shaker clawed back in the final quarter, as they outscored the Cadets 22-15, but they ran out of time.

Bobby Chandler paced the Cadets with 14 points. Jack Louridas racked up 11 points. Cyrus Matia finished with 9 points. Liam Hayes scored 6 points. Mallachy Ings notched 6 points.
Albany Academy made 4 baskets from behind the three point line.

Zacharie Matulu guided Shaker with 23 points. Drew Ronovech contributed 8 points. Sean Hurley tallied 8 points.
The Blue Bison shot exquisite from the charity line as they attained 86.7%, 13 of 15.

(Catskill)

Ichabod Crane suffered defeat to Catskill by 2 points, 48-46, in what turned out to be a tremendous clash of Section 2 Class B squads. The game featured nine lead changes. Janay Brantley led the Cats with 27 points, including the game winning bucket as time expired.

Catskill manufactured a great group effort in the final period as they surpassed the Riders 18-15 as the clock expired. Brantley's game winner was preceded by a clutch game tying three pointer by Alexa Barkley with less than ten seconds left in the contest. With the game tied at 46 Catskill used a timeout, with 3.9 seconds left in regulation, to setup the last second game winning play.

Ichabod Crane held a slight 1-point advantage going into the final frame. 

The Riders grabbed a small 2-point lead heading into the second quarter.

The teams went to the first half intermission with Catskill gaining the upper hand. The Cats produced as a complete unit in the second stanza turning a 2-point first quarter deficit into a 5-point halftime bulge. That included a 13-0 run to give them their biggest lead of nine, 23-14, before Ichabod Crane finished the half with four straight points.
 
Ichabod Crane took the game by storm coming out of the half, after they trailed at halftime, and took a 31-30 lead heading into the last quarter. The Riders used a 10-0 run between the late third quarter and early fourth quarter to give them their largest lead of five points, 35-30.

The offenses fired on all cylinders in the fourth quarter as they generated a robust 33 points.

Janay Brantley paced Catskill with 27 points. Ava Edmond chipped in 10 points.

Carolina Williams guided the Riders with 14 points. Ashley Ames splashed in 13 points. Alexa Barkley collected 7 points. Malati Culver bagged 7 points.
Ichabod Crane produced 4 trey balls.
The Riders shot with first-rate accuracy from the line as they showed out at 76.9%, 10 of 13.

Catholic Central were dominant versus Ichabod Crane 71-40 in Colonial Council action. Darien Moore led the Crusaders with 33 points.

The Crusaders finished the first quarter strong going on a 19-2 run, after trailing 9-2 early in the game, and grabbed a 21-11 lead.

Catholic Central jumped out to a comfortable margin at the break 40-15.
 
The Crusaders were in control at each quarter stoppage by advantages of 10, 25, 32, & 31.

The Crusaders placed three players in double figure scoring. Darien Moore paced Catholic Central with 33 points. Danny Bologna secured 11 points. Nick Riley knocked down 10 points. Qwameik Smith scored 8 points.
Catholic Central used expert marksmanship to make 7 baskets from downtown.
Danny Bologna nailed 3 three-pointers.

Alex Schmidt guided the Riders with 10 points. Dylan Mccrudden added 9 points. Jack Mullins had 7 points. Dylan Colwell accumulated 5 points.

Averill Park dropped Bethlehem 56-40 in a Suburban Council clash featuring two of the top teams in the entire section. Taylor Holohan had a strong offensive game for the Warriors with 21 points. 
 
The Warriors built a second half lead after a close first half as they were relentless on the the defensive end of the floor. Their defense sparked a 15-0 run mid-way through the third quarter that lasted into the start of the fourth quarter. That spurt turned a four point contest into a nineteen point lead. (48-29)

Bethlehem had great energy right from the tip off and rushed out to a nice first quarter lead 15-8. Yet, The Warriors regrouped in the second quarter and outscored Bethlehem by 10 points. Bailee Lange's three pointer late in the second quarter broke a 20-20 tie.
The opening two quarters were ultra competitive as the teams went to the first half breather with Averill Park grabbing a slight lead.

The Warriors played team basketball in the second stanza turning a 7-point first quarter deficit into a 3-point halftime bulge. 
 
Averill Park made the most of great halftime adjustments and led 42-29 headed into the fourth quarter. They held the Eagles scoreless for almost six minutes of game time, including the last 4:00 of the third period into the early fourth.

The Warriors had three in double figure scoring. Taylor Holohan paced the Warriors with 21 points. Kayleigh Ahern chipped in 11 points. Tatiana Tune totaled 10 points. Bailee Lange finished with 9 points.

Caroline Davis led the Eagles with 16 points. Kaitlyn Robbins splashed in 11 points. Eleanor Cerf added 8 points.

Mohonasen edged North Warren 60-50 in a non-league match up during the Zero Gravity event at the Washington Avenue Armory.

Mohonasen used an impressive first eight minutes and darted in front to gain a significant first quarter lead 15-6. They used their defensive prowess and played with great enthusiasm throughout the frame.
 
North Warren, who trailed 31-23 at the half, used an 8-0 run late in the third period to cut their deficit to one point, 34-33, after a Sean Evans bucket. That would be as close as they would get as Mohonasen closed the frame on an 11-5 run to regain a seven point lead.

The Mighty Warriors managed to be ahead at each quarter stoppage by margins of 9, 8, 7, & 10.

Mohonasen had three shooting stars in double figure scoring. Tyler Oleksiak helped the cause for Mohonasen with 14 points. Kameron Coats secured 12 points. Carter Bullinger added 12 points. Karieam Brown scored 8 points. Andrew Batcher sank 7 points.
Mohonasen drilled 7 buckets from beyond the arc.
The Mighty Warriors shot with first-rate accuracy from the free throw line as they made good on 72.2%, 13 of 18.

Sean Evans paced North Warren, a top contender in Class D this season playing up in class in this game, with 17 points. Cooper Morehouse poured in 10 points. Derrick Tyrell bagged 8 points. Zach Hopper popped in 7 points.
North Warren drained 5 trifectas.
