On Friday, December 4th, Saturday, December 5th, and Sunday, December 6th, the Western Athletic Conference will be sponsoring a Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic fundraiser at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

This is the 13th consecutive year we have held this event (minus the 2020-2021 school year due to the pandemic) and we are looking forward to a record number of high schools participating.  During the past six full seasons alone, we have raised over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year's three-day event will feature 19 Boys' Varsity High School Basketball games.  The following schools are scheduled to participate: Northville, Sharon Springs, Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young, Middleburgh, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, Fort Plain, South Kortright, Argyle, Duanesburg, Canajoharie, Lake George, Edmeston, Hadley-Luzerne, Mayfield, Cherry Valley-Springfield, Galway, Johnstown, Schoharie, Cairo-Durham, Mohonasen, Coxsackie-Athens, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, Fonda-Fultonville, Voorheesville, Gloversville, Schalmont, Broadalbin-Perth, Little Falls, Potsdam, Ogdensburg Free Academy, Johnsburg/Minerva, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Loudonville Christian, Maple Hill, North Warren, Corinth, and Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Admission will be $5 per person, and we will also be holding a raffle during the event for various items donated by the community.  Coaches are encouraged to wear sneakers to help raise awareness.  All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
