The Bluehawks dropped a decision to the Wildcats by 16 points, 50-34, in a hard fought Patroon Conference hoop match up . The Wildcats relied on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the the third quarter and at the final tick of the clock.
Maple Hill poured it on in the second half as they coasted to victory. Maple Hill ended the game with clutch play as they outscored Hudson by 9-points in crunch time.
Maple Hill held a small 3-point lead heading into the second quarter.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half stoppage with Hudson out in front.
Hudson played well in the second frame turning a 3-point first quarter deficit into a 1-point halftime bulge.
The Wildcats put forth a team first approach that provided a spark out of the break, after they trailed at the half, and snatched the lead 35-28 going into the fourth period. Maple Hill's Lydia Chittenden hit a three pointer late in the 3rd quarter to break a 27 all tie igniting a 15-1 surge. The game featured 11 lead changes through the first 19 minutes of the game but Maple Hill never trailed again after breaking the tie at 27.
Natasha Strock led the Wildcats with 14 points. Lydia Chittenden added 10 points. Jenna Hoffman had 8 points. Lauryn Smith finished with 8 points. Stacia Coyne recorded 7 points.
Nya Robinson paced Hudson with 11 points. Shayna Coppersmith scored 7 points. Katie Jepsen collected 6 points. Jada Alert had 4 points.
