Hoosick Falls won a cliff-hanger versus Greenwich 51-49 in what turned out to be a colossal collision of Wasaren League squads. The Panthers relied on their solid second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the closing flip of the hourglass. The Witches missed a tough contested shot at the buzzer enabling Hoosic Falls to grab the victory.
Greenwich bolted from opening whistle and took hold of the ball game on their way to a nice first quarter lead 18-9. Yet, The Panthers rallied in the second quarter and outscored Greenwich by 10 points.
The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half locker room break with Hoosick Falls grabbing a slight lead. Hoosick Falls played team basketball in the second quarter turning a 9-point first quarter deficit into a 1-point halftime control.
