Loudonville Christian slipped past Hawthorne Valley 51-42 in a tough as nails Section 2 hoop tug-of-war. Noah Rogers paced the Eagles with 19 points. Loudonville Christian built on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the the third frame and at the closing buzzer.
Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for only 10 points.
Hawthorne Valley held a small 2-point lead at the beginning of the second quarter.
The opening two quarters were ultra competitive as the teams went to the first half intermission with Loudonville Christian nudging ahead. Loudonville Christian played as a complete unit in the second period turning a 2-point first quarter deficit into a 3-point halftime lead.
Noah Rogers led the Eagles with 19 points. Sam Provencher collected 14 points. Cameron Simon scored 7 points. Patrick Manella finished with 6 points.
