Shen slipped past Niskayuna 56-54 in Class AA sectional clash. The Plainsmen move on to play Bethlehem at HVCC on February 27th at 4:30 p.m for a chance to play for the championship.
Shen went off in a crunch time recovery as they eclipsed the Silver Warriors 16-14 by the conclusion of the frame. Clutch play down the stretch was the key to the victory.
Shen held a modest 2-point edge at the commencement of quarter two.
The coronation of a winner was still unresolved as the teams went to the first half breather with Shen grabbing a slight lead.
The margin after the first three frames finished with the game tied at 40.
Shen had a triplet in double figure scoring. Bri Carey led the Plainsmen with 13 points. Kaleigh Montanez chipped in 11 points. Gabby Stuart totaled 11 points. Abby Stuart notched 8 points.
The Plainsmen splashed 4 baskets from long distance.
