Albany hung on vs. Bethlehem 57-49 to repeat as Class AA champions. Shonyae Edmonds propelled the offense for the Falcons leading the way with 27 points. Albany now enters regional play next week.
Albany had great energy right from the tip off and sprinted out to a significant first quarter lead 15-5. They used a lock down mentality protecting their basket and were in command during the frame.
The Falcons were in command at each period ending horn by plus 10, 10, 10, & 8.
Shonyae Edmonds guided the Falcons with 27 points. Iyana Weeden contributed 8 points. Azera Gates bagged 7 points. Mia Corazzini notched 7 points.
The Falcons shot with great fundamentals from the foul line as they prospered at 69%, 20 of 29.
