North Warren outlasted Schroon Lake 64-59 in the Class D Regional Final. Sean Evans provided a much needed scoring outburst as he led the Cougars with 26 points. North Warren favorable outcome hinged on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the concluding buzzer. They now move on to the NYSPHSAA final four vs. Chapel Field Christian on 3/18 in Glens Falls at 12:30 p.m.
North Warren held a slim 4-point margin at the beginning of the fourth quarter and they finished the game with clutch play to seal the victory.
Schroon Lake bolted from opening whistle and rushed out to a generous first quarter lead 15-8. Yet, North Warren perked up in the second quarter and outscored Schroon Lake by 9 points.
The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half breather with North Warren gaining the upper hand.
