Niskayuna slipped past Schenectady 50-47 in a tilt that most local high school basketball followers speculated might be a true test right to the end.

Niskayuna maximized their potential in the second half as they fired on all cylinders as they recovered from a 19 point deficit in the third quarter.

Niskayuna used a fourth quarter rally as they surpassed the Patriots 21-7 as regulation came to an end.

Sparked by a great team effort in the second half the Silver Warriors outscored the Patriots 36-19 in the final two quarters. That was the inverse of the first half when the Patriots put together 28-14 lead at the midway point.

Schenectady had great energy right from the tip off and took hold of the ball game on their way to a decent first quarter lead 15-6. They relied on their stout defense and imposed their will in the quarter.

Schenectady performed well in the second stanza turning a 9-point first quarter lead into a 14-point halftime upper hand.

Daniel Smalls led the Silver Warriors with 15 points. Ethan Gilson contributed 11 points. Gavin Olsen tallied 6 points.

Quymaine Haggray sparked the offense for the Patriots with 14 points. Mykai Anderson secured 9 points. Andre Jackson collected 7 points.
