SPORTS STAFF

Watervliet narrowly held off Voorheesville 64-53 in a hard fought Capital Region basketball tilt. Daheem Wilson starred on offense for the winners leading the way with 25 points.

The Cannoneers roared out of the locker room right from the jump and sprinted out to a nice first quarter lead 15-8.

Watervliet were in command at every quarter stoppage by margins of 7, 9, 10, & 11.

The Blackbirds turned up the heat in the second half but it was too little too late.

Daheem Wilson was the offensive catalyst for the Cannoneers with 25 points. Matthew Wistuk scored 15 points. Trevor Holloway netted 9 points.
Watervliet manufactored 9 baskets from behind the three point line.
Daheem Wilson nailed 3 three-pointers.

The Blackbirds had three shooting stars in double figure scoring. B. Eitleman paced the Blackbirds with 15 points. T. Burns contributed 15 points. N. Romansky dropped 10 points.
