The Garnet Raiders took the loss vs. the Silver Warriors by 2 points 45-43, in a meeting that most local high school basketball followers thought could come down to the final buzzer.
Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored merely 14 points. A winner was still unresolved as the teams went to the first half stoppage with Niskayuna grabbing a slight lead.
Both teams continued to battle through the third period all square at 31. The Garnet Raiders capitalized on gritty play in the third quarter and outscored Niskayuna by 4 points.
Olivia O'Meally was an offensive spark plug for the Silver Warriors with 14 points. Natalie Birmingham racked up 10 points. Ashley Mogavero poured in 8 points. Skye Linyear bagged 6 points. Gasco notched 5 points.
The Silver Warriors splashed 5 baskets from downtown.
