Greenville slipped past Maple Hill 61-52 in a Patroon Conference match up. Jack Giarusso led the way for the Spartans stepping up big-time with 33 points.
The Spartans manufactured a great group effort with a late push as they surpassed Maple Hill 22-11 in the closing minutes. That burst enabled them to celebrate the outcome.
Maple Hill held a slight 2-point advantage going into the final frame.
Sparked by a great team effort in the second half the Spartans outscored Maple Hill 39-23 in the final two periods. That was the opposite of the first half when Maple Hill built a 29-22 lead at the midway point.
Greenville held a modest 2-point edge at the commencement of quarter two.
The Wildcats played team basketball in the second period turning a 2-point first quarter deficit into a 7-point halftime edge.
