Greenville won a cliff-hanger versus Catskill 49-43. Greenville success was built on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the third period and at the last horn.
The offenses really got it rolling in the opening quarter as they combined for a plethora of shot making skills 34 points. But, Greenville were strong out of the gate and took hold of the ball game on their way to a decent first quarter lead 21-13. Yet, The Cats perked up in the second quarter and outscored Greenville by 8 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half intermission with the game tied 26-26.
Greenville came through with inspired basketball out of the locker room, after the game being played to even across the board at the half, and snatched the lead 41-34 moving on to the fourth period.
Greenville placed three in double figure scoring. Jack Giarusso paced the Spartans with 11 points. Jonas Britton poured in 11 points. Jacob Rauf scored 10 points. Keegan Palmeri finished with 9 points. Isaac McAneny splashed in 6 points.
The Spartans manufactored 8 hoops from deep.
