Watervliet won an instant classic versus Chatham 51-48 as they scored the last eight points of the game and held off the Panthers last second attempts to tie the score.

The Cannoneers held a slim 3-point margin at the start of the fourth quarter but trailed by five points, 48-43, late in the game.

The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half breather with Watervliet grabbing a slight lead.

Watervliet played as a cohesive squad in the second quarter turning a 5-point first quarter deficit into a 1-point halftime upper hand.

Watervliet placed three in double figure scoring. Matthew Wistuk was an offensive spark plug for the Cannoneers with 15 points. Branden Joyner racked up 13 points. Trevor Holloway collected 12 points. Jayden Robles bagged 7 points.
The Cannoneers drilled 6 buckets from beyond the arc.
Matthew Wistuk nailed 3 three-pointers.
Watervliet shot with superb accuracy from the charity stripe as they showed out at 65.4%, 17 of 26.

Jacob Taylor led Chatham with 16 points. Lennie Sitzer collected 15 points.
The Panthers knocked down 4 baskets from long distance.
