Guilderland prevailed over Amsterdam 67-49 in the Class AA sectionals. This final result was anything from a forgone conclusion for the majority of the game. Haley Waldron spurred on the attack for the Lady Dutch leading the way with 18 points. Guilderland will take on Columbia in the quarterfinals.
Guilderland secured the win with marvelous execution as they overshadowed Amsterdam by 13-points in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Dutch were strong out of the gate and started the game in style racing to a significant first quarter lead 18-12.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half recess with Guilderland out in front.
The Lady Dutch were on top at all frame closures by advantages of 6, 4, 5, & 18.
Guilderland had a foursome in double figure scoring. Haley Waldron was an offensive catalyst for Guilderland with 18 points. Christina Williams collected 15 points. Gwen Case bagged 15 points. Brooke Lilly sank 12 points.
Guilderland used expert marksmanship to make 12 baskets from behind the three point line.
