Chatham squeaked by Mayfield 41-33 in a Class C sectional match-up. Jahnyah Armstrong led the way for the Panthers stepping up big-time with 19 points. The Panthers move on to face Berne Knox in the quarter final round on Thursday 2/22.
Chatham generated a game changing eight-minute rally as they bested Mayfield 14-3 as regulation came to an end.
Mayfield held a modest 3-point edge heading into the fourth period.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half breather with the game tied 18-18.
Mayfield exhibited great effort coming out of the break, after being all square at the half, and grabbed an advantage of 30-27 moving on to the final quarter.
Jahnyah Armstrong put forth a strong offensive game for Chatham with 19 points. Marsy Chudy splashed in 12 points.
Brooke Iannuzzi guided Mayfield with 9 points. Brianna Iannuzzi collected 9 points. Abigail Chest scored 8 points.
