Mohonasen seized a down to the wire victory over Lansingburgh 59-55 in what turned out to be a terrific encounter of Capital Region basketball clubs. Chase Monroe and Shawn Gillisslee combined to score 42 points for the winners. The Mighty Warriors depended on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the third frame and at the last whistle.

Mohonasen held a slim 3-point margin at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This battle of wills felt like a clash of the titans through the third frame.

Mohonasen and Lansingburgh were all square after one period of play.

The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half intermission with Lansingburgh out in front. The Knights played solid as a rock in the second quarter turning a tied game into a 4-point halftime lead.

Mohonasen exhibited great effort out of the break, after they trailed at the half, and snatched the lead 46-43 going into the final frame.

The Mighty Warriors had a trio of players players in double figure scoring. Chase Monroe paced Mohonasen with 24 points. Shawn Gillisslee scored 18 points. Duncan Tallman collected 13 points.

Tario led the Knights with 15 points. Knight collected 13 points. Wallace dropped 9 points. Green with 8 points.
Lansingburgh splashed 4 baskets from long distance.
Knight made 3 three-pointers.
The Knights shot with skillful form at the free throw line as they produced 78.9%, 15 of 19.
