Mayfield outlasted Salem 54-43 in a first-rate Section 2 basketball collision. Aidan Halloran led the Panters with 21 points.
The Panters finished the game in great form as they outscored Salem by 5-points in crunch time.
Mayfield held a slim 2-point margin at the start of the second quarter.
Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored merely 12 points.The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half break with Mayfield nudging ahead.
The offenses caught fire in the fourth quarter as they generated their highest scoring period of 35 points.
Mayfield were in command at every quarter buzzer by margins of 2, 4, 6, & 11.
