Northville won a nail biter versus Mayfield 61-54 at the Woodward Tournament in Northville. Jason Ellsworth led the victors with 23 points. The Falcons built on their tenacious second half play as they led at the end of the the first twenty-four minutes of action and at the closing buzzer.
Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for just 12 points.
The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half stoppage with Mayfield nosing in front.
The Falcons came through with inspired basketball out of the break, after they trailed at the half, and took the lead 39-34 going into the final quarter.
