Queensbury slipped past Amsterdam 54-48 in showdown of Class A Foothills Council clubs. Hope Sullivan led the Spartans with 18 points.
The Spartans fired on all cylinders right from the jump and darted in front to gain a significant first quarter lead 18-6. They put together an extraordinary defensive effort and took control of the quarter.

The Spartans fired on all cylinders right from the jump and darted in front to gain a significant first quarter lead 18-6. They put together an extraordinary defensive effort and took control of the quarter.
Queensbury opened up a sizable halftime advantage of 30-13. The Spartans played solid as a rock in the second frame turning a 12-point first quarter lead into a 17-point halftime edge.
Amsterdam played well in the final quarter but the clock wasn't on their side.
