Amsterdam beat Gloversville 69-56 in a high energy Capital Region basketball game. Both teams gave every bit of effort they had in a game that was closer than final score may indicate. Jackie Stanavich paced the winners with 27 points.
Amsterdam were strong out of the gate and darted in front to gain a decent first quarter lead 19-13.
Amsterdam used a tough hard-nosed effort in the third quarter and outscored Gloversville by 7 points.
The Rams managed to be ahead at every quarter buzzer by margins of 6, 9, 16, & 13.
Amsterdam placed four players in double figure scoring. Jackie Stanavich led Amsterdam with 27 points. Charli Beekman collected 14 points. Elana Fedullo had 11 points. Andi Gannon finished with 10 points.
Harmony Philo paced the Lady Dragons with 28 points. Kendra Lavery powered in 16 points. Daley Jo Christman collected 7 points.
Gloversville made 9 hoops from deep.
