Catholic Central hung on versus Mohonasen 56-55 in a hard fought Colonial Council match-up. Sarah Mattfield paced the victors with 19 points. Catholic Central rode the coattails of their consistent second half play as they led at the end of the the third period and at the final buzzer.
Offensive and defensive adjustments in the second half were a key as the Crusaders outscored Mohonasen 28-22 in the final two quarters. That was different than the first half when Mohonasen sprinted out to a 33-28 lead at the midway point.
Mohonasen played well in the final quarter but time was clearly a factor.
Catholic Central had a trio of players players in double figure scoring. Sarah Mattfield led the Crusaders with 19 points. Breanna Graber collected 14 points. Angie Guiliano scored 14 points. Sophia Delaney finished with 7 points.
Catholic Central used expert marksmanship to make 4 trifectas.
Bre Lott paced Mohonasen with 16 points. Ava Fasolino scored 10 points. Megan Hart netted 8 points. Jaddah Lennon tallied 7 points. Jillian Collins popped in 7 points.
The Mighty Warriors splashed 4 hoops from long range.
