Mayfield squeaked by Northville 43-33 in a hard fought Section 2 hoop tilt. Lindsey Hampton led the victors with 22 points.
Mayfield squeaked by Northville 43-33 in a hard fought Section 2 hoop tilt. Lindsey Hampton led the victors with 22 points.
The Panthers built on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the final whistle.
Mayfield finished the game in great form as they outscored Northville by 5-points at the critical stage of the game.
Northville used an impressive first eight minutes and started the game in style racing to a decent first quarter lead 14-6. They put together an extraordinary defensive effort and took control of the quarter. Yet, The Panthers rallied in the second quarter and outscored Northville by 5 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half break with Northville gaining the upper hand.
Mayfield came through with inspired basketball out of the break, after they trailed at the half, and took the lead 33-28 going into the final quarter.
Lindsey Hampton paced the Panthers with 22 points. Cloey Dopp racked up 10 points. Kelsey Meca poured in 5 points.
Mayfield knocked down 6 baskets from downtown.
Cloey Dopp nailed 3 three-pointers.
Brytney Moore led Northville with 9 points. Kerrigan Groff netted 8 points. Madalyn Biche totaled 5 points. Morgan Mackey sank 4 points.
