Mayfield generated a game changing eight-minute push as they bested Bishop Gibbons 18-8 as regulation came to an end. That burst enabled them to celebrate the outcome.

Focused play in the second half helped as the Panthers outscored Bishop Gibbons 41-24 in the final sixteen minutes. That was different than the first half when Bishop Gibbons built a 31-18 lead at the midway point.

The Golden Knights were strong out of the gate and played excellent team basketball on their way to a significant first quarter lead 14-8.

Bishop Gibbons played solid as a rock in the second quarter turning a 6-point first quarter lead into a 13-point halftime edge.

Offense out shined the defense in the third quarter as the teams combined for a net scorching 39 points.Mayfield used a tough hard-nosed effort in the third quarter and outscored Bishop Gibbons by 7 points.
