Maple Hill conquered Galway 71-50 in a Class C sectional match up. Blake Decker and Rian Jewett combined to score 39 points for the winners. The Wildcats advance to play Lake George on Friday 2/28 at Shenendehowa H.S. at 8 p.m.
The Wildcats ended the game with clutch play as they outscored the Golden Eagles by 6-points at the critical stage of the game.
Maple Hill were strong out of the gate and darted in front to gain a decent first quarter lead 20-10.
The Wildcats raced ahead after two quarters 39-22.
Maple Hill played as a complete unit in the second period turning a 10-point first quarter lead into a 17-point halftime edge.
The Wildcats managed to be ahead at every quarter buzzer by margins of 10, 17, 15, & 21.
Maple Hill placed four players in double figure scoring. Blake Decker led the Wildcats with 20 points. Rian Jewett poured in 19 points. Dominic Hirschoff scored 12 points. Ben Marra accumulated 10 points.
