Shenendehowa won an instant classic versus Green Tech 64-61 in a tough as nails Section 2 Class AA championship game. Andrew Martin led the victors with 19 points. The Plainsmen relied on their tenacious second half play as they led at the end of the the third period and at the closing tick of the clock. Green Tech had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer with a three point shot but it didn't fall.

The Plainsmen relied on their tenacious second half play as they led at the end of the the third period and at the closing tick of the clock. Green Tech had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer with a three point shot but it didn't fall.
The Plainsmen now play Corcoran Saturday March 14, 2:30 p.m at Hudson Valley Community College.
The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half break with Shenendehowa nudging ahead. The Plainsmen played sound basketball in the second period turning a 4-point first quarter deficit into a 2-point halftime bulge.
Shenendehowa placed three players in double figure scoring. Andrew Martin paced the Plainsmen with 19 points. Lucas Seyoum added 15 points. Luke Lavery had 11 points. Jake Reinisch accumulated 8 points.
Shenendehowa drilled 7 baskets from downtown.
Andrew Martin made 5 three-pointers.
The Eagles placed four players in double figure scoring. Mazziah Thorpe led Green Tech with 20 points. Demani Benjamin powered in 12 points. Justin Owens added 11 points. Joshua Rodriguez tallied 10 points.

Green Tech shot with superb accuracy from the free throw line as they made 66.7%, 16 of 24.
Shenendehowa held a slight 2-point advantage at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This no holds barred match up entertained the crowd through the third period. The Plainsmen rallied late in the game after giving up the lead in the final stanza.
