Averill Park defeated Troy 54-32 in Class A sectional hoop action.
The Warriors ended the game with clutch play as they outscored Troy by 12-points at the critical stage of the game.
Averill Park used an impressive first eight minutes and played excellent team basketball on their way to a hefty first quarter lead 13-7. They put together an imposing defense and took control of the quarter.
The Warriors played as a complete unit in the second quarter turning a 6-point first quarter lead into a 10-point halftime bulge.
Averill Park were on top at every period ending horn by margins of 6, 10, 10, & 22.
The Warriors placed three players in double figure scoring. Amelia Wood paced Averill Park with 12 points. Anna Jankovic collected 10 points. Kelsey Wood scored 10 points. Michelina Lombardi sank 9 points. Julia Gelder picked up 7 points.
The Warriors used expert marksmanship to make 6 baskets from long distance.
