The Cougars were cut down versus Northville by 4 points, 41-37, in what turned out to be a mammoth showdown of Section 2 hoop units. Both teams left it all on the court in this Class D sectional game.
Northville produced a last period push getting the better of the Cougars 14-4 in the closing minutes. That burst enabled them to celebrate the outcome.
The Cougars came through with inspired basketball out of the break, after they trailed at the half, and snatched the lead 33-27 going into the final quarter.
Jaycee Frasier led Northville with 13 points. Kerrigan Groff added 10 points. Brytney Moore had 8 points. Madelyn Buche accumulated 5 points.
Jodi Bartlett paced the Cougars with 10 points. Nicole Buckman secured 8 points. Kaitlin Kramar finished with 6 points. Tia Buttino totaled 6 points. Lauren Monroe sank 5 points.
The Cougars used expert marksmanship to make 5 buckets from beyond the arc.
