Troy outlasted CBA 52-50 in what turned out to be a mammoth heavyweight bout of Section 2 hoop sides. Marquis Hamby paced the Flying Horses with 20 points.

The Flying Horses used a fourth quarter counterattack as they out-shot CBA 18-12 as time wound down. That burst enabled them to celebrate the outcome.

CBA held a modest 4-point edge at the start of the fourth quarter. This grudge match was headed towards an epic finish through the third quarter.

Offensive and defensive adjustments in the second half were a key as Troy outscored CBA 33-26 in the final two periods. 

That was the opposite of the first half when CBA built a 24-19 lead at the midway point. 

The Brothers used an impressive first eight minutes and played excellent team basketball on their way to a nice first quarter lead 12-5. They used an extraordinary defensive effort and took control of the quarter.

The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half stoppage with CBA nudging ahead.

Marquis Hamby led Troy with 20 points. Shamdo Caldwell scored 8 points. Nasir Dawud-Soto poured in 7 points. Makai Cruel dropped 6 points. Alex Wolfe accumulated 6 points.
Marquis Hamby nailed 3 three-pointers.
Troy shot excellent from the free throw line as they made 75%, 15 of 20.

Jordan Hubbard and Hagen Foley paced CBA with 15 points each.
The Brothers shot with superb accuracy from the charity stripe as they produced 68.4%, 13 of 19.
