Schoharie used strong play to stop Mayfield 64-42 in (WAC) hoop action. John Blackwood led the victors with 25 points.
Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for barely 11 points. But, The Indians used an impressive first eight minutes and bolted out to a hefty first quarter lead 9-2. They relied on their stout defense and gained momentum throughout the frame.
Schoharie jumped out to a comfortable margin at the break 31-12. The Indians played solid as a rock in the second frame turning a 7-point first quarter lead into a 19-point halftime bulge.
Schoharie were in front at each period closing whistle by plus 7, 19, 20, & 22.
