Mechanicville built on their steady second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the final whistle.
Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for only 17 points. Catholic Central held a slight 1-point advantage going into the second frame.

Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored only 18 points.The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half locker room break with Mechanicville gaining the upper hand. Mechanicville played solid as a rock in the second stanza turning a 1-point first quarter deficit into a 1-point halftime advantage.
However, Mechanicville took advantage of a strong performance and grabbed a 41-33 lead into the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders capitalized on gritty play in the third quarter and outscored Catholic Central by 7 points.
The offenses fired on all cylinders in the fourth quarter as they generated a high octane 45 points.
