Averill Park outlasted Niskayuna 48-42 in what turned out to be a mammoth showdown of Section 2 hoop squads.

The Warriors held a modest 1-point edge going into the final frame. This no holds barred match up felt like a clash of the titans through the third quarter.

The Warriors secured the win with marvelous execution as they surpassed Niskayuna by 5-points at the critical stage of the game.

The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half intermission with Averill Park out in front.

Both teams struggled to score the ball coming out of the locker room after the half as they combined for barely 10 points.

The offenses fired on all cylinders in the fourth quarter as they generated a high octane 33 points.

Averill Park were in front at every period closing whistle by leads of 4, 1, 1, & 6.

Averill Park had a triplet in double figure scoring. Amelia Wood and Anna Jankovic paced Averill Park with 15 points each. Taylor Holohan had 11 points.
The Warriors splashed 5 hoops from behind the arc.
Anna Jankovic made 4 three-pointers.

Olivia Olsen led Niskayuna with 16 points. Olivia O Meally powered in 8 points. Kathleen Birmingham added 7 points. Hawa Equiza Gasco scored 6 points.
Niskayuna drained 4 hoops from long range.
