Mekeel Christian beat Duanesburg 84-22 in Section 2 basketball play. Alex Barnhill and Zahki Fallen combined to score 38 points for the winners.
The Lions used a monster second half and collected the victory.
Mekeel Christian used an impressive first eight minutes and played excellent team basketball on their way to an ample first quarter lead 17-2. They clamped down on their opponent with a magnificent defensive effort and gained momentum throughout the frame.
The Eagles fell behind by a score of 42-16 at the half.
The Lions used a tough hard-nosed effort in the third quarter and outscored Duanesburg by 19 points.
Mekeel Christian managed to be ahead at each quarter stoppage by plus 15, 26, 45, & 62.
The Lions had five players in double figure scoring. Alex Barnhill led Mekeel Christian with 20 points. Zahki Fallen secured 18 points. Christian Jahnel poured in 13 points. Eric Skeeter tallied 12 points. Chris Kane accumulated 11 points.
The Lions knocked down 14 buckets from beyond the arc.
