Cambridge beat Norwich 70-53 in a battle of perennial powers in N.Y. State basketball. Lilly Phillips and Stasia Epler combined to score 38 points for the victors.

The Indians played solid as a rock in the second quarter turning a 5-point first quarter lead into a 10-point halftime advantage.

Cambridge used a determined effort in the third quarter and outscored Norwich by 13 points.

Norwich bounced back in the final quarter but time was clearly a factor.

Cambridge were on top at each period closing whistle by leads of 5, 10, 23, & 17.

Cambridge placed four in double figure scoring. Lilly Phillips and Stasia Epler led the Indians with 19 points. Sophie Phillips scored 14 points. McKayla McLenithan accumulated 11 points.
The Indians manufactored 11 trifectas.
Stasia Epler made 5 three-pointers. Lilly Phillips added 3.
Cambridge shot stellar from the free throw line as they produced 76.5%, 13 of 17.

Coggins paced the Purple Tornado with 13 points. Hansen scored 10 points. Evans poured in 7 points. Daugher totaled 6 points. M. Hess sank 6 points.
Norwich made 7 baskets from downtown.
Coggins nailed 3 three-pointers.
The Purple Tornado shot with superb accuracy from the charity stripe as they made 66.7%, 8 of 12.
