Shaker narrowly held off Averill Park 57-49 in what turned out to be a mammoth encounter of Section 2 basketball cagers.
With the teams tied at the end of regulation play the fixture went to overtime where The Blue Bison went past Averill Park 12-4. That spurt ultimately sealed the win.
Shaker held a small 1-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for just 11 points. Averill Park held a modest 3-point edge heading into the second quarter.
