Fonda won a down to the wire classic versus Fort Plain 43-41 in one of the top small school games in Section 2 basketball. Nick Hastings led the Braves with 18 points.
The Braves used a fourth quarter surge as they ground out a victory versus Fort Plain 14-12 as time wound down.
Fort Plain held a small 1-point lead going into the second frame. The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half intermission with Fort Plain nosing in front.
The two squads refused to give ground through three quarters as the score was tied at 29.
Nick Hastings paced Fonda with 18 points. Jackson Cusack collected 11 points. Cayden Egelston had 7 points.
The Hilltoppers had a triplet in double figure scoring. Robert Jordan led Fort Plain with 16 points. Levi Thomas powered in 11 points. Clayton Welch netted 10 points.
