Albany Academy used strong play to stop Voorheesville 58-36 on the hardwood of Section 2 basketball.

The Bears stormed out of the locker room and sprinted out to a decent first quarter lead 12-3. They used an extraordinary defensive effort and grabbed control of the frame.

The Blackbirds were outscored 34-16 at the half.

Albany Academy performed well in the second frame turning a 9-point first quarter lead into a 18-point halftime advantage.

The Bears were benefitted by a robust performance in the third quarter and outscored Voorheesville by 6 points.

Albany Academy were on top at each period closing whistle by margins of 9, 18, 24, & 22.

Saige Randolph paced the Bears with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Meleena Ottati collected 11 points. Erin Huban scored 9 points. Bella Vincent accumulated 8 points.
The Bears manufactored 5 baskets from behind the three point line.
Erin Huban made 3 three-pointers.

Zanello led Voorheesville with 11 points. Thayer scored 6 points. Gifford poured in 5 points. Cramer totaled 4 points.
Voorheesville shot with great fundamentals from the charity stripe as they made 71.4%, 10 of 14.
