Hudson slipped past Catskill 51-49 in what turned out to be a tremendous test between the lines of Section 2 hoop units. Isaiah Maines paced the Bluehawks with 20 points. The Bluehawks relied on their solid second half play as they led at the end of the third period and at the final whistle.
The Bluehawks fired on all cylinders right from the jump and darted in front to gain a nice first quarter lead 16-6. They used their remarkable defensive prowess and played with great enthusiasm throughout the frame. Yet, Catskill bounced back in the second quarter and outscored Hudson by 10 points.
The opening two quarters were ultra competitive as the teams went to the first half break with the game tied 24-24.
Hudson made a charge out of intermission, after being all knotted up at the half, and took the lead 41-34 bearing down on the final quarter.
