Maple Hill won in a struggle vs. Chatham 51-49 in a game that most area coaches expected to be a true test right to the end. This meeting delivered the goods. Maple Hill favorable outcome hinged on their tenacious second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the closing buzzer.

Both teams scratched and clawed to score the ball in the opening quarter as they combined for merely 15 points. Chatham held a small 1-point lead at the beginning of the second stanza.

The Wildcats performed well in the second frame turning a 1-point first quarter deficit into a 6-point halftime edge.

Maple Hill capitalized on gritty play in the third quarter and outscored Chatham by 4 points.

The offenses fired on all cylinders in the fourth quarter as they generated a robust 34 points. Chatham clawed back in the final quarter but the hourglass ran out of sand.

Ethan Harrington and Ben Marra paced the Wildcats with 14 points. Brady Cole had 7 points.
Maple Hill splashed 8 baskets from behind the three point line.

Matt Thorsen led the Panthers with 20 points. Tate Van Alstyne secured 10 points. Tobias Geralds added 9 points.
