Averill Park slipped past Burnt Hills 60-53 in what turned out to be a mammoth encounter of Section 2 hoop clubs. Both teams left it all on the court. Amelia Wood was an offensive force for the winners leading the way with 18 points. 

The Warriors relied on their consistent second half play as they led at the end of the third period and at the last whistle.

The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half locker room break with Averill Park out in front.

Averill Park performed effectively in the second quarter turning a 5-point first quarter deficit into a 2-point halftime advantage.

The Warriors were benefitted by a robust performance in the third quarter and outscored Burnt Hills by 5 points.

The Warriors placed three players in double figure scoring. Amelia Wood led Averill Park with 18 points. Taylor Holohan added 15 points. Kayleigh Ahern dropped 12 points. Michelina Lombardi accumulated 8 points.
