Northville seized a down to the wire victory over Berne-Knox 62-55 in what turned out to be a colossal showdown of Western Athletic Conference clubs. Jacob Frank was an offensive force for the winners taking charge with 24 points.
Northville went off in a crunch time counterattack as they out-shot the Bulldogs 24-16 as regulation came to an end. That burst enabled them to celebrate the outcome. Berne-Knox held a slim 1-point margin at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This battle of wills was a war on the floor through the third quarter.
The Bulldogs used an impressive first eight minutes and darted in front to gain a decent first quarter lead 15-9. Yet, Northville had a resurgence in the second quarter and outscored Berne-Knox by 12 points.
Northville played solid as a rock in the second stanza turning a 6-point first quarter deficit into a 6-point halftime bulge.
Berne-Knox exhibited great effort out of the locker room, and grabbed an advantage of 39-38 heading towards the final frame.
