Averill Park edged Shaker 58-48 in a high energy Suburban Council basketball fixture. Both teams gave every bit of effort they had in a game that was closer than final score may indicate. Amelia Wood and Taylor Holohan combined to score 38 points for the victors.
The offenses really got it rolling in the opening quarter as they combined for a potent offensive display 37 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half recess with Averill Park gaining the upper hand.
Averill Park were in front at all period closing whistle by leads of 5, 5, 7, & 10.
The Warriors had a triplet in double figure scoring. Amelia Wood sparked the offense for Averill Park with 20 points. Taylor Holohan got in the book with 18 points. Michelina Lombardi accounted for 10 points. Kayleigh Ahern connected on 7 points.
