Catholic Central hung on vs. Voorheesville 52-43 in an uber competitive game in Section 2 basketball. Tanavia Turpin was a walking bucket for the Crusaders popping in 23 points. Catholic Central relied on their unwavering second half play as they led at the end of the third period and at the final buzzer.
The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half break with Voorheesville nosing in front.
The Crusaders put forth a team first approach that provided a spark out of the break, in the wake of their first half deficit, and grabbed an advantage of 41-33 heading towards the final quarter.
Tanavia Turpin put forth a strong offensive game for Catholic Central with 23 points. Brenna Graber secured 15 points. Gabriella Di Bacco finished with 6 points.
Hannah Woodworth led the Blackbirds with 13 points. Teegan McGinn knocked down 8 points. Reese Hoenig scored 7 points. Emily Thornton accounted for 6 points. Mia Carmody got in the book with 5 points.
