Albany hung on vs. Shaker 67-56 in a Suburban Council hoop match up. Isaiah Austin paced the winners with 35 points.
Albany had great energy right from the tip off and bolted out to a decent first quarter lead 14-7. They put together an imposing effort guarding the hoop and played with great enthusiasm throughout the frame. Yet, Shaker had a resurgence in the second quarter and outscored Albany by 6 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half break with Albany nosing in front.
Albany capitalized on gritty play in the third quarter and outscored Shaker by 6 points.
The Falcons were in front at each period ending horn by margins of 7, 1, 7, & 11.
Isaiah Austin put forth a strong offensive game for the Falcons with 35 points. Frailin Marrero De La Rosa scored 9 points. Malachi Perry added 8 points.
Zacharie Matulu paced the Blue Bison with 17 points. Martin Ostergaard contributed 11 points. Nicholas Montalto totaled 9 points.
