Niskayuna nipped Averill Park 43-31 in a hard fought Suburban Council tug-of-war. Owen Evans led the way for the Silver Warriors stepping up big-time with 20 points.
The Silver Warriors were charged up from the opening whistle and played excellent team basketball on their way to a hefty first quarter lead 14-8.
Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored barely 7 points.The end result was still uncertain as the teams went to the first half intermission with Niskayuna nudging ahead.
The Silver Warriors were in control at all quarter buzzer by separations of 6, 5, 8, & 12.
Owen Evans took control of the offense for the Silver Warriors with 20 points. Sam Booth scored 10 points. Jack Allen accounted for 6 points.
Niskayuna connected on 10 hoops from deep.
Owen Evans nailed 6 three-pointers.
Brady Mazzeo showed the way for Averill Park with 8 points. Ethan Nardacci knocked down 7 points. Andy McCart had 7 points. Dan Coiteux notched 5 points.
