Northville won an instant classic versus Salem 50-49 in a Class D playoff contest. Hailey Monroe played like a video game cheat code for the winners stepping up big-time with 30 points. Northville moves on to play #1 seed Hartford in the semi-final round.
The Falcons held a slight 2-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter. This duel kept fans on the edge of their seats through the third quarter.
Northville were strong out of the gate and darted in front to gain a nice first quarter lead 16-5. They hampered their opponent with a splendid defensive effort and seized momentum in the period. Yet, Salem recovered in the second quarter and outscored Northville by 9 points.
The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half stoppage with Northville gaining the upper hand.
Northville managed to be ahead at all period ending horn by advantages of 11, 2, 2, & 1.
Hailey Monroe showed the way for Northville with 30 points. Hannah Hoffman collected 10 points.
