Fonda won a cliff-hanger versus Mechanicville 46-39 in a Class B semi-final contest. The Braves play Schalmont on Saturday at Hudson Valley Community College for the championship.
The Braves held a slight 4-point advantage at the start of the fourth quarter. They went on to outscore the Red Raiders 9-6 in the final frame.
The Braves stormed out of the locker room and sprinted out to a big first quarter lead 17-9.
Mechanicville picked up some ground in the middle two quarters outscoring Fonda 24-20.
Fonda were in command at every quarter stoppage by leads of 8, 7, 4, & 7.
Kieonna Christmas helped the cause for the Braves with 14 points. Marilyn Whitcavitch got in the book with 11 points. Kayla Smith accounted for 9 points. Carly Atty totaled 7 points.
Lila Christensen showed the way for the Red Raiders with 8 points. Ella Zecca netted 7 points. Hailey Phelps dropped 7 points. Jill Germain accounted for 6 points. Chloe Goverski racked up 6 points.
