Despite an all-tournament performance by Zachary Rice of Tamarac, the #1 seeded Bengals took the loss against Catholic Central 74-71. Rice scored a game high 26 points. Danny Bolgna led the Crusaders with 21 points. Catholic Central moves on to the Class B title game to face Ichabod Crane on Saturday in Glens Falls.
Catholic Central held a small 1-point lead at the beginning of the second stanza. The Crusaders opened up a sizable halftime advantage of 42-30.
The Bengals capitalized on gritty play in the third quarter and outscored Catholic Central by 7 points.
Catholic Central managed to be ahead at each quarter buzzer by splits of (+) 1, 12, 5, & 3.
