Queensbury won a cliff-hanger versus Johnstown 61-60 in a meeting that most local experts imagined would end with the culmination of two well coached teams clawing for every point. Trevon Bailey was a serious problem on the offensive end for the winners going off for 18 points. The Spartans relied on their dependable second half play as they led at the end of the third quarter and at the closing horn.
Johnstown held a slight 2-point advantage going into the second frame.
Queensbury produced as a complete unit in the second quarter turning a 2-point first quarter deficit into a 10-point halftime advantage.
Johnstown bounced back in the final quarter but the clock wasn't on their side.
The Spartans had a triplet in double figure scoring. Trevon Bailey sparked the offense for Queensbury with 18 points. Zion Freeman splashed in 17 points. Aiden Bleibtrey finished with 11 points.
