Chatham fell to the Warriors by 4 points, 55-51, in what turned out to be a tremendous showdown of Section 2 hoop squads. Lukas Lilac played like a video game cheat code for the group that came out on top leading the way with 21 points.
The Warriors held a slight 1-point advantage heading into the fourth period. This no holds barred match up was headed towards an epic finish through the third frame.
Stillwater used an impressive first eight minutes and started the game in style racing to a generous first quarter lead 16-10.
The Warriors were relentless at the break and led 29-18. Stillwater played team basketball in the second quarter turning a 6-point first quarter lead into a 11-point halftime supremacy.
Chatham used a tough hard-nosed effort in the third quarter and outscored Stillwater by 10 points.
Stillwater managed to be ahead at each frame finishes by margins of 6, 11, 1, & 4.
Chatham improved upon early play in the second half but came in second best today.
Stillwater had a triplet in double figure scoring. Lukas Lilac led the Warriors with 21 points. Jaxon Mueller poured in 13 points. Thomas McDonough tallied 11 points. Carter Wichelns knocked down 9 points.
The Warriors knocked down 5 hoops from deep.
